A Robust and Dynamic Personality – Fr. Pedro Rodrigues SJ
Rev. Fr. Pedro Rodrigues SJ hails from Goa and was born on 29th June 1968 in Mapusa, Goa. He completed his high school education from St. Thomas High School at Aldona, Goa and is an alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa. Fr. Pedro is fondly known to many as Fr. Peter. He joined the Loyola Hall Pre-Novitiate at Miramar, Goa from where he did his college studies. He then continued his studies from Sadnalaya Novitiate at Nasik in Maharashtra and joined the Jesuit Society on 30th May 1989. He was ordained a Priest to the Goa Jesuit Province on 27th December 2002. Fr. Pedro has served in various institutions as, Principal of Loyola High School, Margao, Vice-Principal of St. Britto’s High School, Mapusa. In June 2014 Fr. Pedro initiated and started the prestigious Loyola Higher Secondary College at Margao, Goa, which has been his outstanding achievement. Being on a new track he had to struggle and get things going which he did with admirable patience, grace and commitment. He was the Principal of the college from its inception till he took over as Principal of St. Paul’s High School, Belgaum on 21st September 2017.
Fr. Pedro is a very hardworking, talented and a pious Jesuit. He is a good orator, a musician and plays the guitar. During his leisure time, Fr. Pedro likes to listen to music and read books. He is also a good sportsman and has represented his school and college in various games like volleyball, basketball, football, table-tennis, badminton and athletics.
